The movie 1917 was initially released on the 30th of January this year in Thailand. It is about two British soldiers in WWI who have been ordered to deliver a message to the front line. Although the plot is very simple, Sam Mendes seems to have visualized it flawlessly and made one of the best war films in movie history. George Mackay's performance with the flawless one-shot technique has been mind-blowing. Sam Mendes really is a genius and this movie clearly shows it. 1917 was also the winner of 3 Academy Awards including best sound mixing, best cinematography and best visual effects which were well deserved. I recommend this video game-like experience to everyone.

Review based on my very biased opinion: I think 1917 is emotionally thrilling and shows us the reality of war and the significance of peace. George Mackay's performance never ceases to amaze me and makes the entire film spiritually powerful.
