In the midst of 2018, there was a huge incident that went viral all over the news. It was also known as the Cave Rescue. Thankfully, the 12 footballers and their coach were rescued safely after being trapped in there for 17 days due to the rain water which poured into the cave preventing them from exiting. During this 17 days process, many people helped think of methods which could provide a rescue plan. One of those was Elon Musk who tried to design an underwater shaft to move the footballers through the water as most of the footballers had no swimming capabilities.

What's the main point of this 'Nation's Hero' topic then.

Well, the picture above is of one of the SEAL divers who went into the cave to provide the footballers with oxygen tanks and food. Most importantly, he was an ex-diver but still volunteered especially for this cause.

After the news emerged out of the cave that this particular diver sadly lost his life as he was diving through a very small gap in the cave, the country knelt down to appreciate what he has done for the 12 wild boars. There is also a statue for Saman Gunan unveiled outside Tham Luang Cave.

Saman Gunan was my teacher who taught me many things including rafting and kayaking. I am very thankful and grateful for what he has done for the nation and for me.
